1 week, 1 year, 10 years....

Don't trust your data to one single device.

that's always true. I've recently formatted a flash drive by accident… maybe you know if there's a way to recover it.

I used the wrong one for flashing an ISO🤦‍♂️

That's called retention period and as per JEDEC for consumer SSDs it's about 1 year and for enterprise SSDs it's about 3 months, but those are defined specs or expectations. The reality may vary based on several other conditions like storage environment, what has gone into the product during manufacturing and so on.

I have a similar question but what if the drive is connected to the PC but the PC is not powered on (unplugged) is it the same exact result?
