So recently I've gotten really into DayZ, and I've been plagued by low fps in cities and even in forests, even when running at low graphics settings. I currently have an AMD A8-6600k (4 Core at 3.9ghz and Radeon HD 8350D) using the integrated graphics with 8gb of 1866mhz RAM, which is actually pretty decent. (I average 30 fps when in smaller towns) Will getting a discrete video card such as an R7 increase performance?

Solution
I have around 60+fps on forests and small cities but when im going on big ones fps are around 20..My settings are high/medium.I have a r7 260x 2gb gddr5.Its a good gpu but if you want to play dayz on very high settings go for 750ti or 660 and if you have higher budget go for 660ti or gtx960/970
That integrated graphics has ONE gig of video RAM, and extremely low end performance (expected of integrated). You need a dedicated graphics card, absolutely no question.

Until you get a new card, you can lower the in-game resolution. Resolution is the biggest hit on performance. Make sure to torn down textures to low too, your 1gig of VRAM is not enough.

I recommend the GTX 960, or 750ti. IF you have a bigger budget go for the 970 or 980.

It is not 'extreme' low end performance, in fact, I don't have any issues with running other games. The integrated graphics takes from the ram, and doesn't technically have vram. I should've mentioned I highly dislike Nividia, and will not buy an overpriced GPU. My question was would a card such as the R7 increase my performance.

Okay, so the CPU is the issue? I bought an A8 to save myself the extra 100 on an i5

What CPU do you have?

Thank you, I appreciate it. I will probably purchase the same card as you, and medium settings will look beautiful over lowest haha

Its a little better than mine r7.So i overclocked my r7 and now dayz runs perfectly 😀 On big cities like berezino lowest fps 25 highest 40.On forest and small cities lowest 45 and highest 95.So it worth to buy this gpu.Ohh and here is a good fps boost for dayz. Go Program files x86/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Dayz right click on Dayz_be and choose properties. Then go on compability and tick the box that says run program in compability mode for..Then choose from below to run it on Windows XP (Service pack 3).This adds 10+fps.Here is the video if you have trouble finding it.It also has some more fps boost tips.(The video is not mine).
