A friend of mine is getting a new board and cpu, and wants to keep his old RAM for the time being, he has 4sticks of DDR ram, is there any 775 board that supports C2D that will hold that many sticks of DDR1 because I can't find one :( I originally planned on using the Asrock dualvsta board but it only has 2 DDR slots. If there is no such board, can anyone reccomend a good 939 board and CPU combo for about $180

I don't think any AM2 or 775 boards support DDR RAM. Your friend would be much better off waiting until he can afford DDR2 RAM. You can get a 1GB of 800 DDR2 A-DATA for about $65. Given how long the CPU and mobo should last, I don't think it makes sense to get last generation technology because if he goes with AMD 939 he really won't save any money on the CPU and mobo.

I've seen a few 775boards that support DDR, but only with 2 slots, so there's none with 4? :?

Hmm, I guess I'll just get him the asrock dual-vsta board and he can run with 1gig till he can afford some ddr2
