I have an AMD Athlon II x2 250 processor 3.0 GHz PC with 1 x 1333 MHz 2GB RAM. I've got 2 x 1333 MHz 4GB RAM cards for it, slotted them in but it doesn't work. I've also tried 2 x 1600 MHz 4 GB RAM cards and that doesn't work either. I've read they need to be balanced, which they are, is there something else I need to change? BIOS settings? If so, what and how? Thanks

Your processor doesn't support memory with 1333 Mhz clock speed the maximum clock speed it support is 1066 Mhz as per AMD's official website info

check below website under the tab 'model number comparison'

I don't know what motherboard I have, I couldn't find it anywhere in the system information on the PC and couldn't find it online when putting the PC spec in (thinking that it would be a common/standard build. What does the CMOS battery look like?

I don't know what motherboard I have, I couldn't find it anywhere in the system information on the PC and couldn't find it anywhere online either when searching for the PC spec (assuming it was a common/standard build). What does the CMOS battery look like? I'm confused about the advice that the PC won't support 1333MHz since it has been working fine with one of these all the time ove owned it and the crucial compatibility check says it'll support up to 1866MHz..?
