If you want 4 gigs of ram your manual says you need (4) 1gb of one sided memory, but you can try 1gb 800MHz one sided, 1gb 800MHz one sided, and 2gb 800MHz two sided. If that does not work you can do 1gb 800MHz one sided, 1gb 800MHz one sided, and 1gb 667MHz two sided for 3gb of ram.

how do i view that timings how is that called

I only have found this and i have set it to manual and it says
Confugyre DRAM Timing by SPD [Manual ]
DRAM CAS# Latency [5]
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [6 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM RAS# Precharge [6 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM RAS# Acivate to Precharg [15 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRTP [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRFC [38 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TWR [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRRD [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TWTR [12 DRAM Clocks]

i tried with this and it didn't worked , my brother needs his laptop i will do it tomorrow , what about timings what numbers to set?

Your Kingston memory is rated 5-5-5-15, you Samsung 5-5-5-? at 333mhz (x2 =667Mhz). Those numbers correspond to: DRAM CAS# Latency [5] DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [6 DRAM Clocks] DRAM RAS# Precharge [6 DRAM Clocks] DRAM RAS# Acivate to Precharg [15 DRAM Clocks]. I would suggest changing the "Acivate to Precharg to [18] since you don't know what the Samsung is rated at. I would also suggest changing DRAM TRFC [38 DRAM Clocks] to around [50], and the reason I say that was when I was using 4 sticks of 400mhz ram that was the default value. I don't know what the other numbers mean. Good luck.

so i just replace those numbers with this you sent to me?

If the Samsung is rated at 5-5-5-12 then the only thing I would change would be the DRAM TRFC to around [50]. I would leave the voltage at 1.325 for NB and DRAM at 1.9 since that almost worked before. If that doesn't work you can increase DRAM TRTP [12 DRAM Clocks], DRAM TWR [12 DRAM Clocks], DRAM TRRD [12 DRAM Clocks], DRAM TWTR [12 DRAM Clocks] to 13 or 14 to see if that helps.

can you just do that here by replacing numbers
this is how it is now

Confugure DRAM Timing by SPD [Manual ]
DRAM CAS# Latency [5]
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [6 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM RAS# Precharge [6 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM RAS# Acivate to Precharg [15 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRTP [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRFC [38 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TWR [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRRD [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TWTR [12 DRAM Clocks]

Yes, you should be able to replace the number. Some motherboards you can hit select/highlight the number that you want to change then type in the number you want, other motherboards give you a menu to select from.

i did not mean that
Confugyre DRAM Timing by SPD [Manual ]
DRAM CAS# Latency [5]
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [6 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM RAS# Precharge [6 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM RAS# Acivate to Precharg [15 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRTP [12 DRAM Clocks]
DRAM TRFC[can you type numbers here which i need to put]
DRAM TWR [can you type numbers here which i need to put]
DRAM TRRD [can you type numbers here which i need to put]
DRAM TWTR [can you type numbers here which i need to put]

do you understand me now?

I don't know for sure. Just based on my experience using multiple DDR2 sticks I would try DRAM TRFC at 50. Then if that doesn't work you can set the numbers that are "12 Dram Clocks" to 13 or 14. You are trying to "loosen" the timings until you can (hopefully) get the memory stable. I would only change one setting at a time. So NB voltage should be 1.4, memory at 1.9, and slowly change the memory timings with the DRAM TRFC first. If changing memory timings doesn't work, then try memory at 2.0 volts.

I just did a quick google search and learned that they may never work together if they are both "double sided" memory See below:

From the P31 Neo User Manual.

Please note that the only time two Dual Sided memory modules are used, the other slots are vacant. In order to populate all four slots, single sided memory modules are required.

Single Sided RAM Is basically just the Ram modules mounted only on one side of the stick.
Double Sided RAM Is similar just that the RAM Modules are mounted on both sides.

I'm guessing that they are both of your sets are double sided.

Here's the link to your motherboard manual: http://www.msi.com/service/download/manual-7812.html. The memory section starts on section 2-7 and will go into more detail about the limitations of the motherboard.

Diagnosing your pc
Attempting repairs

and then it turns on and i logged in and it was okay few second and then
again collecting information for you or whatever it says and then restarts
NB 1.4 DRAM 1.9 DRAM TRFC 50 and clocks are still 12

Do both sets of memory have black blocks on both sides of the sticks? If they do your motherboard will not allow them all to be installed. Section 2-7 of your motherboard manual will explain what will work.

(SS) Single Sided RAM - the Ram modules mounted only on one side of the stick.
(DS) Double Sided RAM - the Ram Modules are mounted on both sides.

this is how they are installed right now and it almost works
SLOTS

1 2 3 4
SS - KK
AA - I I
MM - NN
SS - GG
UU - SS
NN - TT
GG - OO
------ NN
samsung and kingston i hope you understand

The only other options to try are to increase the values that are 12 to 14. You could also increase the first value (latency) to 6. Last resort is to increase the memory to 2.0 volts.

So both sets of memory have blocks on both sides of the sticks or just one stick?

latency is 6 , 12 is 13 trfc 50 nb 1.4 and dram 1.9 and when i restart it its just black screen i can't start the bios what to do now?

Now is when you clear CMOS. Just to the left of the round battery you should see JBAT1 (three prongs sticking up with a jumper over two of them). With the computer powered off and unplugged move the jumper to the left or right so it is over the different two prongs, leave it there for about 20 seconds, then move it back to where it was originally. Now your computer will boot again, but it will be at default settings.

Have you read your motherboard manual? What BIOS are you using? Are memory blocks on both sides of your memory sticks or just one?

i don't understand that question with memory sticks im Serbian and my english is bad ,
im using bios v02.61 (C) Copyright 1985-2006 , American Megatrends , inc.

Your english is quite good. Are you able to download and read the motherboard manual? Are there black blocks on both sides of Kingston and Samsung memory or on just one side? Is your motherboard the MSI P31 Neo V2?

black blocks are from both sides on samsung and kingston memory , msi p31 neo v2 is my mb , i will download and what do i need to read ?
