HI GUYS
I HAVE INTEL D102DGGC2 BOARD ON WHICH PRINTED SUPPORTS DDR2 533 /400 SDRAM MEMORY.
TODAY I INSERTED A NEW RAM WHICH IS 1 GB DDR2-PC2-6400. WHEN I CONNECTED THIS RAM ALONE MY PC WAS NOT STARTED. THEN I USE MY FRIEND'S RAM 512 MB PC2-5300. WHICH IS WORKED.
THEN I SEE DETAIL USING CPUZ.
WHICH SHOWS DATA FOR 1 GB RAM AS:
FREQUENCY 333MHz AND 400MHz.
WHEN I SEE THE DETAIL OF 512MB THEN FREQUENCIES ARE: 200, 266, 333 MHz.
MEANS MY BOARD SUPPORT 400MHz FRQ. THEN WHY IT NOT SUPPORT ALONE 1 GB RAM.??
IS THEIR ANY SOLUTION TO USE ALONE 1 GB RAM VIA ANY UNIVERSAL CONNECTOR WHICH CAN CONNECT ANY FREQ. RAM ON ANY BOARD.

1 MORE THING WHEN I GOOGLED FOR THIS THAN I FOUND USE SAME MEMORY STICK LIKE 512MB IN BOTH PORT AS SAME 1GB -1GB , 2GB-2GB CONFIG. RATHER THAN USING 1 GB AND 512 MB RAM?? IS IT ANY SIGNIFICANCE FOR USE THIS PAIR..

OR

I AM THINKING RIGHT NOW IF PC2-6400 ALONE IS NOT SUPPORTED BUT IF I USED 1GB PC2 6400 ND 1GB PC2-5300. WELL THEN THESE COMBINATION OF RAM WILL WORKED EFFICIENTLY??

GUYS WHAT IS YOUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MY QUERY PLZ REPLY HERE AND SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ...

You should use matching pairs on your board. Mixing brands and speeds is never guaranteed. Check the maximum size per slot; should be 1 gb. To match ram on older boards, it's sometimes better to use the same speed and brand you already know works.

:hello: Welcome to the forums.

Having said that, do you see the key on the left side of your keyboard labeled [Caps Lock]? Turn it off and then, do not touch it. Posting in all caps is considered "shouting" and is very rude.

Using matching DIMM's enables your motherboard to run in what is called "dual channel mode". This improves performance a little.
