DDR3 2GB to DDR3 1GB

Hello,

I have a unique problem. The motherboard I have is Intel DP43BF. The factory bios has a problem with accepting 2GB RAM. I am located in the Philippines and for the live of me I cannot locate a singe 1GB stick of DDR3 1333. I do however, have 2x2GB of RAM and my question is: Can I remove some of the memory modules to make it 1GB?

You can't do that. On the other hand, your motherboard will accept 1 GB and 2 GB modules. Your issue might be incompatible modules, not their size. Are they DDR3 1066 Mhz at 1.5v?

The motherboard is compatible with 2GB and 4GB DDR3 1066/1333. There was an issue with the factory bios. I finally found 1 GB DDR3, installed the OS and updated the bios to the lastest release and was able to install 2x4 GB DDR3 1333.
