dead cat smell

I´ve just got a sblive value. When i put it in and turned my computer on i got into my bios for some reason and then tried to get out of my bios but it had locked up. Right about then i started to feel a funny smell like a cat died or something so i turned it off. Could my sb be alive in any way? I´ve checked the mobo and it seems alright besides my floppy(?) is totally wiped out. (tried it an my old computer and it is truly dead) and what i think is quite important to know for the next soundcard. WHAT THE F**K DID I DO WRONG.

Not likely as the two use comletly diffrent parts of the MB and do not use a shaired power souce, as the SC gets its power from the MB, the Flopy directly from the power supply.

If it works for you then don't fix it.
