so I came back after a week away and turned pc on , over night it froze when I fell asleep with it turned on, restarted it and windows had to be reinstalled as I was getting nothing but crashes after entering logging in, reinstalled windows and its working fine but now am getting the system reserved thing for ram, 8 gb usable 8gb reservered out of 16bg installed, I checked msconfig and there is no limit set for ram, I checked bios and its reading both ram sticks at 8gb a piece but total is staying at 8gb at bios, if I turn on xmp (if that's what it is called ) to make my ram sticks go at there proper speed (2666mhz) it doesn't boot, but it boots at default 2133mhz , but never uses both sticks only using 1 of them. any help appreciated. my system specs are
amd ryzen 1700x
gigabyte gtx 1070 8gb
16gb(2x8gb) corsair vengeance white LED 2666mhz
asus prime b350m-k
windows 10 pro

also in msinfo it shows the 16gb is there but only 8gb usable rest reserved

hmm i shall try that and get back to you cant see it being mobo tho its only like 3 months old

right tested the 2 sticks indivudually , 1 stick worked in both slots , 1 stick didnt work at all, how is this possible they worked for 3months solid , how can 1 jsut break, also they where a set so how do i go about replacing it
