[citation][nom]jimmysmitty[/nom]Too bad its not a HD5870 + PSU. The 5870 is more powerful than the 6870 and cheaper too.[/citation]
The 5870 is more powerful by a small margin and were in the hell did you get the idea of the 6870 being more expensive? The cheapest ones are for is $219-230(The most expensive is $260) and the price is supposed to drop 20-40$ as AMD releases the 1GB version of the 6950.

BTW the 6870 has better crossfire performance.

I got my HD5870 for $200 on a good deal so thats why. I notice now that they jumped back up in price.

Either way I was looking over benchmarks and overall a HD6870 is a bit better than a HD5850 in both single and CF configurations. Of course drivers being updated might help but I would think it would help all the GPUs unless AMD only went for the HD6K series.

I guess I was just a tad dissapointed that they were not the same jump from HD5K > HD6K as it was from the HD4K > HD5K (almost 2x the performance).

It is a good deal but I already have a great PSU, the Corsair TX850W so it would be pointless for me.

As it should, I was planning on going with a new graphics card only to find AMD went efficiency over performance in the long run. Though the deal looks great for someone like me who wants an upgrade from a 5770 but worries that his lower end psu might not handle the 250-300$ graphic cards.
