It would be nice if companies like Dell listed all of the components of their computers.
What motherboard is used, or what about the power supply?
Both are extremely important parts of any computer and companies neglect those details.
Why? Because they use low-grade, budget pieces?

If you look at the tech specs of the systems at dell.com, you can find out the chipset, power supply used and other details.

For example:

XPS 8500 uses H77 chipset, 460W Power Supply
http://www.dell.com/us/soho/p/xps-8500/pd

Vostro 260s uses H61 chipset, 250W ATX, Auto-ranging Active-PFC or non-PFC with 115/230VAC line switch (varies by country), 50/60 Hz Power Supply
http://www.dell.com/us/soho/p/vostro-260s/pd

Vostro 470 uses 350W, 115/230VAC (Equipped with Selector Switch) 50/60Hz OR 460W,EPA, 100~240VAC 50-60Hz Power Supply

^ we were hoping for specific motherboard and psu model name and numbers. A diablotek 600w doesn't perform anywhere near a corsair 600w.

@the vostro, are they seriously still using non active pfc model 0_0

Dude, Dell has their motherboards custom made by one of the big manufacturers. They are not standard models, like the ones you can buy. Expect them to have the bare minimum needed, like the PSUs they use.
