Haaaa so if heat means more power than fear the wrath of my Palomino

LoL still i praise Intel for the rambus. If there weren't rambus then I'd have chosen Pentium IV 1.6 Williamete instead of my 1700+

>I am not bashing AMD,

*cough*

>more like you guys bashing me.

For good reason

>You might want to re-read this thread to see where it all
>went wrong.

It went wrong with your initial post:

>We are collecting data on the huge number of A64 deaths to
>determine all the causes.

You know the cause: overvolting

>There are also a few reported
>cases of no overclock deaths and deaths on unmodded boards.

And this is pure trolling FUD.

>You guys have no clue how many A64's it took to catch my EE
>let alone how many died trying.

But you werent bashing AMD or trolling, now where you ?

Dude you are kidding , right? Why would you think more heat equals more power? semi conductors thrive on more conductive materials and the LACK of heat.Silicon hates heat.

thanks fugger for you're response. I'm still trying to decide between a northwood with the 865pe chip or an amd64 with the via chipset. Is 3.5 mhz about the ceiling for an aircooled northwood(ex 2.4c)?

Just because the boards are unmodified, doesnt mean the chips havent been overvolted. For all we know some people may have bought A64 mobos with a bios that supports high core voltages, and left the CPU at default speed but simply heavily overvolted. I know it sounds strange, but it could have happened

Eh...I think more than one person here missed the subtle yet distinctive aroma of sarcasm wafting from raretech's post.

<i>[inhaling deeply]</i> Do I detect a hint of basil and oregano in there too? I think I do.

<i><Lionel Hutz> I'll be defending...The SCO Group!!!??? Even if I lose, I'll be famous!</i>

"Dude you are kidding , right?"

About how great the one True faith of Intel is? No, you're only kidding yourself if you doubt it.

"Why would you think more heat equals more power?"

It's simple, duh. Heat doesn't just come from nowhere, it's a byproduct of the power in the cpu. Now, you may still think you need to argue with me on this. I assure you, nothing could be further from the truth. Technically, I'm right, and if I'm right, then I'm telling the truth, now not another word lest you blaspheme Intel.

"semi conductors thrive on more conductive materials and the LACK of heat.Silicon hates heat."

That's just proAMD propaganda.

Sweet. Intel rulez.

<i>Never attribute to insult what you can to sarcasm.</i>

"so if heat means more power than fear the wrath of my Palomino"

Right on! Intel Rulez!

"i praise Intel for the rambus"

As do we all.

<i>Never attribute to insult what you can to sarcasm.</i>

"[inhaling deeply] Do I detect a hint of basil and oregano in there too? I think I do."

I'm sorry, but when I read this I had a flashback to this time I was with a bunch of friends and someone had some pot...

<i>Never attribute to insult what you can to sarcasm.</i>

"Yeah!!! And screw those nanobrains that think AMD rulez and Intel's sh1t!!! They must have AMD processors for brains."

No sarcasm or joking here: Intel isn't sh1t. When I built my wifes system 6 months ago, I went with the P4. When I built mine a few months ago, I went dual Opteron. At the time I got my wifes system, the P4 represented the best fit for her system needs within the budget we established. When I got mine, the Opteron was the better choice. Had the A64 been out at the time I built her system, I likely would have gone that route. If something from Intel was a better choice at the time I built my system, I would have gone that route.

As far as I'm concerned, whoever has the best offering for my needs gets my money. That simple.

But when people like Fugger get involved with his persuasive arguments, I lose all reason and find myself picking a side. I can't help it! It just makes so much sense!

<i>Never attribute to insult what you can to sarcasm.</i>

Yeh well I guess the sarcasm flew right over my head with the billows of crack smoke you mother f*ckers are smoking. I just jump in the middle every da*n time..lol.

I hope you are keeping up with the A64 death thread.

New additions and large quantities.

<b>"You haven't proven anything that once 64-bit support comes out, it will perform even better." -EDEN</b>

OMG, Kunaak had 2 that died without provocation and 2 from being overclocked.

AMD is eating a lot of processors. They make SNDS look like it never was a problem. Oh wait, it never was...

Keep up the fudding fugger, you're only destroying whatever respect you may have had with some.

For those smart enough not to read the entire thread, here is the post:
"I killed 4 so far.
2 I have no idea what happend.
1 from running a 352 FSB.
not sure what happend there.
1 from running 3.7 volts into the ram.

No provocation hu ? I didnt read that.. and if the guy has no idea what caused his 352 Mhz FSB chip to die, God only knows what he did to the others.

Now go search somewhat more credible FUF fudder.

He killed 4 processors, 2 he doesn't know why meaning that he didn't overclock or volt mod. If he had he would have stated so like on the other 2 that he killed.

Thanks for the backup, you are on it today.

"For those smart enough not to read the entire thread, here is the post:" -ROFL... comon man, does it really hurt that bad? you dont want them to read that thread... haha

> 2 he doesn't know why meaning that he didn't overclock or
>volt mod

*BS*. That is your fudding, not what it says. Nowhere do I read unprovoked or not overclocked. He doesnt know why he killed the 352 fsb chip either. And seriously, you expect anyone on the forum NOT to overclock ? Get real man.

>-ROFL... comon man, does it really hurt that bad? you dont
>want them to read that thread... haha

I don't give a rats ass who reads it. Its fascinating to see how people apparently enjoy spending that kind of money on such a bizarre contest for two minutes of fame on the ORB and that seems to involve more luck than skill, but after 2 or 3 pages the novelty really wears off.

Each person has their own goals and I put my hardware in harms way as well, I have been very lucky. But it takes more than luck. It takes time, resources, and skill.

They want the best performance from the hardware and understand the risks involved.

Fugger cant stand AMD, well if i got CPU`s from Intel, i would also hate AMD, surtenly when AMD64 is raping the P4 very hard !

If realy that much AMD64 CPU`s died we would have read it on a newssite, dont you think ? i dont believe [-peep-], all intel lovers making up a story.
Intel lovers are pethetic...
(yes i know, my englich sucks)

THG : The last 5-6 reviews have allways either had skewed results, or just somehow strangely come to a completly diferant conclusion then all of the other sites around.

yeah i don't remember on ANY other hardware review sites hearing anything about A64's dropping like flies, other wise i wouldn't have any intention on buying one very soon.
