Hello! I've been using a Razer laptop for around 7 years now and a 765M is getting a bit old and I wanted to purchase a new computer. Due to my life style requiring me to be on planes and moving countries every 6 months or so having a laptop is more convenient for me than a desktop where I can potentially break my desktop during transportation. So now I am deciding between a laptop. I want a really strong laptop to last me 5~10 years. I was looking for a laptop with a 8th gen intel with a GTX 1080. I finally came to the conclusion of a MSI or an Origin Eon17-SLX laptop, which should I get? Now I want to hear your input and suggestions.
(I would like a desktop but I don't wanna take of hassle of wrapping it around on a carry on and be nervous about breaking it also not a craftmanship person so don't expect me to modify a pelican case into a desktop).

Solution
people who couldnt build ikea furniture have build a pc with the help of us:) , it took a whole day but it worked.
a laptop will never be as fast as a pc, and you cant fully customize it to your liking(make it portable).
even if you cant build it you can buy the parts and let a shop assemble it for another 100$ and you will still get more worth than a laptop (defenetly with your budget which I guess is 3k).

laptops, I recommand the gigabye aero 15x since its the best laptop for this moment.
dont like gigabyte?take a look at the asus Asus RoG Zephyrus GX501

I was looking into a EON17-SLX which Origin offers a i7-8700 and a GTX 1080. Idk if there is a shop that can assemble near me. I need it for heavy travel usage so I need a screen on i as well. From my research there are no desktop that is that versatile. With all that modify and time its personally I would just buy a laptop. Wondering which ones are suggestible. Is Origin or MSI good (GTX 1080 variant).

Lets say I choose the taku route is it possible to put a GTX1080 and get a small monitor 1920x1080 on it? Also Idk what parts to get for it. Sorry I'm really new on laptops. so like a ASUS ROG Strix H370-I motherboard?

I travel around once every 3 months from Japan to America and visa versa. Would a desktop that size be able to power a i7 8700 with a GTX 1080 32GB of ram. Cause thats my desire PC build. Gaming purposes.

OMG JAPAN!!!! *asian dreams kicks in*

for you op, orgin is a good laptop, read the tomshardware review.
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/origin-pc-eon17-slx-gaming-laptop,5080-3.html
it has 2 x gtx 1080 and gets in gta v 90 fps on ultra full hd

a 1080 ti ..... gets on TWICE the resolution of the laptop double the fps. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti,4972-3.html

whats your budget +- op?
also what msi laptop are you looking at?

I was looking at the MSI Titan but not really interested. My budget can be 3000~4000. also will 32GB ram fit the PC part picker is a 2x8 and I'm sure 16GB won't be enough. Also concerned if the fan is strong enough to cool it. Are there HDD that are more than 2TB with the same size?

you can have 128gb ram, inserting ram is clicking in and out..
there are hard drives that are 12tb.
usually you hit a cpu limit or gpu limit before you hit a 16gm ram limit, but hey you can go all out with this kit.
