i have an hp 15 CS2082TX laptop:
i5-8265u
nvidia MX250
8gb 2400mz ram
256ssd
1tb hdd
intel uhd 620 Integrated graphics.

Just from the first day the usage of nvidia gpu was 0% in tast manager. using the settings of nvidea comtrol panel i changed the global settings to high resolution nvidia processors. but still only the integrated graphic is being used.

Moreover in many applications (light ones only)and all the dialogue boxes the quality of text is as if there is no gpu at all. how can i permanently disable integrated graphics and just use my MX250 for every thing in the laptop.

There must be an option in the power settings to do that, either for specific apps or for all but it's better to leave it on the default settings.

This ensures that you get optimal performance and battery life.

Try to run a high end game and check the fps using fraps.

Only then you can tell whether the dedicated gpu is being used or not.

I doubt if you have the latest gpu driver installed?
