Intel just seems to keep stubbing their toe and I am ready for a new build so I am defecting to AMD for the first time in over 15 years.

I generally go with a mid-high range motherboard but am not familiar with the AMD chipsets. My plan is to pick up a 9800X3D......

Which Asus motherboard would you recommend on the higher end? Also, if white was a must, which one would you chose? I have used Asus for my last 4 builds and have had zero issues so I am going to stay loyal :)

There's a sizeable number of white boards when looking through PCPartPicker;

What are you looking from your motherboard purchase, besides dropping a Ryzen 9800X3D onto the socket? Make and model of your case?
I dont necessarily want white, just wanted to know what the best option is. Currently I am running a 12900k w/ Asus ROG Hero board. So, thats the level I would be looking for in the AMD world.

So, which Asus board is on that level? Whats the difference between the B650 and X870, for example?

B650 chipset MBs usually have lower VRM and less of PCIe lanes or their versions from chipset, VRM typically good for about 180W and that means 12 cores or less.
x670 MBs typically have stronger VRM and more capable chipset. X870 MBs have even more capable chipsets, with more PCIe lanes and higher versions as well as USB 4.0 etc., otherwise same as x670.
They also hold higher price so I'm holding off for b850 MBs slated for early next year.
