Delayed keyboard response

Hi,

I'm having troubles with my keyboard. It's a standard old dell keyboard, but when I'm gaming - if I hit an attack, there's a slight, less than a half a second delay between the key input and the in-game animation...any suggestions?

SPECS:
2.4GHZ core 2 duo
geforce 8800 gts 320mb
4gb ram
xp professional sp3
corsair 650w psu
500 gb hdd

currently playing AION @ 1920 x 1080 @ ~30-70 fps (depending on the areas)

Drop the resolution on it and try again. I had the same problem with a few games when I tried running full HD year before last. Got a new GPU and it solved the prob. The FPS were about the same as yours but instead of the computer slowing down the frame rate, it lagged on the control response time.
