Hey guys,
I have a bit of a strange one, that I can't seem to figure out. I also can't seem to find anybody having the same issue as me.
I built my PC myself, a few years ago. System specs as follows:
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87-HD3 (LGA 1150)
CPU: Core i5-4460 (Haswell)
RAM: 16GB Hyper-X
OS: Windows 10 Pro N 20H2 - Genuine and Activated
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 - 4GB
The issue that I am having (and have had for as long as I can remember) is that when I first turn the machine on the system doesn't have any sound. As in if I want to watch a video or listen to music, it will play for several seconds (up to 20) with no sound output at all, then suddenly kick in.
It used to be that just toggling the volume up and down would sort it, but now it's got to the point where it will only kick in if I put Spotify on, or play a video in my browser. Other applications, such as Amazon Prime Video, don't wake up the sound. The sound can also cut out completely if I'm watching videos for a while, and I have to force it to kick back in
I'm using on board sound, with a Logitech 2.1 speaker system plugged into the green socket.
Windows is NOT managing the sound device's power, I turned that off thinking that would fix it.
