I am about to replace my existing Dell Dimension SPS 450 with a newer Dell
computer. I am looking at either the 4700 or 8400, both pretty much
configured the same (3.2 GHz processor, 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM, 80 GB
harddrive, SP home edition operating system). The 4700 system prices out
at $1120, and the 8400 at $1220. The computer is for home use, mainly
e-mail, internet, home finance and word processing, some Excel and
Powerpoint work, digital photography work, some music, and light game
playing. I assume either system would be adequate for what I want to do,
but would it be worth the extra $100 to get the 8400 instead of the 4700?
Is the basic configuration I'm considering reasonable for what I plan to
do? What do you experts think?
Thanks - Chuck
