am getting ready to reformat and reinstall windows. have recently flashed my bios from A0 to A6 allowing for the 160 gb backup drive i installed (which dell said wasnt possible from the get go, and never told me that flashing my bios would allow this...thanks guys!). Now dell is telling me that if i do a clean reinstall, my bios will have to be reflashed as it will go back to A0. Is this true? Or has another dell tech (broken english as none of them are american) told me a big fib again. Thanks in advance. You freaks are the best!!!!! Also, when re-installing windows onto my 40 gb drive, will it leave the 160 gb drive alone so that i dont lose all my wifes songs? (and therefore my life)

Stupid tech support.

Just install every thing like you want. The rescue or repair cd should have windows on it.

Try to install windows without doina a repair or restore. A restore will put all of that crap back on your computer. Then you spend time deleting it.

I aint signing nothing!!!

You can format your C: drive and not affect any other drives. Reinstalling software does not change BIOS. And no, Dell's techs don't know BIOS, they don't have to as Intel makes Dell's BIOS for them (as far as I know). In fact the "techs" your speaking to probably aren't even real technicians.
