Dell Inspiron 1721...only ONE RAM socket???

Go from a friend who got it from a business. Came with no HDD, No RAM, No A/C power cable. No prob. Specs say this Inspiron 1721 should have 2x 2GB RAM sockets for a max of 4GB. BUT! But only ONE RAM socket visible. Any scenario where this makes sense???

Yes. You'll need to check the manual. it's very common for only one slot to be accessible from the bottom, and the first slot is on the other side of the board under the keyboard. Normally that slot would be the populated so its not normally an issue.

You can see here in the 15the pic. Instructions are for a 1720/1721. So May work for you.
