Question [DELL Latitude 3540] Upgrading RAM memory

I'm attempting to upgrade my laptop for the first time and want to start by changing the RAM. My laptop is a DELL Latitude 3540 with 8 GB of memory RAM. I'm wondering what kind of memory I can install and if I can add 8 GB to the existing 8 GB. I'm considering the Crucial (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1600 MHz, but I'm unsure if there are better options available.

Additionally, I plan to replace the hard drive with a Fanxiang S101 500 GB SSD SATA III.

I'm wondering if this is a good way to upgrade my system.

Get a better quality SSD and go for the 1GB model.

For better quality you mean another brand or just the capacity? I was considering the Crucial SSD 500 GB, but it was more expensive than the Fanxiang. What about the RAM?
