Dell latitude d600 manual

Hello,
I received a dell latitude 600d from a friend. It is overloaded with junk, music ect. I tried to erase alot of the information but now it will hardly turn on. Is there a way for me to hook to internet thru my other lap and download the info on to that one and maybe use eternet cable between the two. Can I erase more info or should I download the cpu or what?
