Question Dell Optiplex 380 SFF Motherboard to a Dell Optiplex 780 MT Case

Hi guys,

I have a Dell Optiplex 380 SFF and I like to transfer the 380 motherboard to a Dell Optiplex MT 780 case, it is possible?

If you had the Optiplex MT 780 case, then try it out. If you don't have it yet, recommend to check out the MB mounting holes, even both are the BTX format, but they may or may not have the compatible MB mounting holes, and check your MB back I/O shield plate to see it can or can't be remove, if it can't, you are out of luck.

Thanks for the reply, I will check that. I only found the MT version of the 780

The case of the 780 that I found it has the PSU and the motherboard, but the motherboard is faulty, and I can't find a compatible back I/O shield

Opti 780MT Mb sell for $10-$15. The SFF layout is different, and even the 380 MT would mostly be a step backwards.
