Question DELL OPTIPLEX 5050 I7 7700 (VS 6700)?

Hello i have dell optiplex 5050
specs: i7 6700 1tb samsung 970 evo 40gb ram [1x hynx 8gb and 2x8gb + 1x16gb kingstons off aliexpress maybe fake?] asus gtx 1650 low profile and i belive 230 psu)

its not my main computer but i find myself using it alot for multitasking and copying alot of files and cloaning hard drives and playing leauge of legends and fortnite sometimes too when im orginizing my hard drive files it can take lot of time to move and copy so i find myself bored so i wanna play leauge with friends but it lags hard when i copy files and play, i do have i7 9700kf on my main pc and i dont remeber it lagging while i moved files. this pc dosent seems to like a lot of multitasking.. i wanted to know if this pc can support i7 7700? and is it gonna improve preformance? if i install this cpu or maybe its just the psu crippling this pc?

also i would like to know if i have fake ram on my pc i love aliexpress and i found deal on kingstons that seems fine so thats what i have in this pc right now. also i have seen i7 7700 on aliexpress and i asked the seller if my pc will support it and the seller said no. and not order it.. but i dont think its true i was googling and saw that this pc can handle both 6th and 7th gen. but im asking here because i would like to know more. and i would like to know if cpu off aliexpress is a good idea? i mean so far i bought hard drives and rams out of ali and more things so seems to be fine..

Do you have the tower or the Small Form Factor variant of the OptiPlex?

scroll down to page 51 to see the list of processors supported by the prebuilt.

As for your ram, you can't go beyond DDR4-2133MHz so you're stagnated there even if you drop in a better pedigree processor onto the motherboard.

You might want to reconsider dropping anymore money on that prebuilt since you're going beyond what it's originally designed for.

And ye this cpu actually cost the same as this pc i bought it 2nd hand

Whether you can do it or not is moot, as Dell may lock out certain upgrades in their BIOS. It's moot because the performance difference makes it not worth the hassle even if Dell hadn't locked out that particular upgrade.
