Hello guys, I was interested in building a pc for my girlfriend to do some gaming with. We've been bored with this quarantine, but while following the Covid - 19 "guidelines" we end up with a lot of at home time. So I'm hoping to build the best bang for a buck pc, I've always wanted to do so but have lacked the knowledge and funds (still lack the knowledge).
Okay: I was thinking of going with a Dell Optiplex 9010 MT
CPU: i5 3570
Ram: 8 Gb
Gpu: -
PSU: 250 Watt
HD: 320 HD
(Standared OEM MB+ case)
She's looking to play games like Overwatch, boarderlands. Nothing too crazy, I have a much bigger pc build if she wanted to do anything in super ultra, or play the highest games. So I was thinking of upgrading the gpu, but I don't know what's the best choice for my money. (I'm trying to keep costs down to no more then $100 on a GPU). So I was thinking of going with the r9 290. I found one for $80, I was contemplating the 970, but I think that's a little more speedy.
So I know I would have to definitely upgrade the PSU in this case, but would a card like a r9 290, or a 970 even work in the OEM dell motherboard? (MB number M9KCM to be exact)
Any tips advise is always appreciate. Thanks so much.
