Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and like it very much! I purchased a new Dell computer a few months ago, its my 2nd Dell computer. I read a lot of complaints about Dell on this forum. I'm truly sorry for all of you that have had bad and negative times with Dell. The truth of the matter is that there are good things about Dell.

The secret to buying from Dell is to customize your computer very well and research as many components simply buy going to their websites. For example I checked out the graphics card ATI Radeon 4870 1 gig and I saw that it was one of their top of the line graphics card. I play Crysis, Street Fighter 4 and all my other games very well. The games run very smoothly with excellent graphic detail. I also knew that most computer games now need at least 512MG graphic memory to run, and also knew that significant system memory may be allocated to support graphics, depending on system memory size and other factors. So what that means is that your windows OS will take a certain portion of memory from your graphics card.

Right on schedule. No one else has posted to this thread since Claire exactly one week ago. Claire was the last one to post one week ago and the thread has remained dormat since then. But here he is bumping it again by making two bogus say-nothing responses to messages posted before his last one a week ago.

Gee Claire - why didn't you respond to them a week ago when you posted? Why wait until now to bump the message? For your own commercial gain again? Have you no shame? Abusing all the viewers by stealing their time in hopes of getting a few more customers to waste their money on your web site?

And I remind you that my comments have all just been defending myself from your personal attacks or pointing out how you were misleading readers with bad information or using this forum your own commercial gain. I see you also added "Update 11/2009" to the title in an effort to get people to come back and read your advertisement again. Why add that? There has been no substantive information added in November. If I am wrong - please tell me what the substantive information is.

Of course I know you will not answer that just like you have not answered any of the earlier questions I asked, such as how did the articles support the attacks you made on nVidias new cards (I just asked that you point out specifically where the articles supported your claims and you could not and did not) or more recently just to provide support for your claim about helping police departments around the country - again you chose not to answer but to respond like always with personal attacks on me. You repeatedly mislead readers and, when caught, instead of admiting your error and apologizing, you lash out with the personal attacks.

You owe the readers whom you deceive into vistiting and revisiting this thread an apology for stealing and abusing their time.

Moderator - I ask for the third or fourth time - can you not close this thread to stop the personal attacks and to prevent him from continuing to use the thread for his own commercial advantage. Both clearly violate forum policy.

No, what Claire was doing was attacking new nVidia video cards - the 210 and 220 since they were not as fast as some AMD cards like the 4870. But he did not attack them for not being as fast, he specifically said they were "cheap quality" and "old and outdated". I and others patiently tried to expain and show him how he was wrong, but he doggedly held to his position and wrongly attacked those cards despite all the evidence presented to the contrary.

He was comparing nVidia $100 and $120 cards to ATI $170 cards and pronouncing the nVidia ones as low quality and outdated because they were not as fast. That is obviously just foolish. ATI makes cards that are slower than the nVidia ones but cost just as much. Using his analysis, his beloved 4870 is of cheap quality and old and outdated because the 4890 and the NVIDIA GTX 275, 280, 285, and 295 are all faster - not to mention some cards in the new 5000 series.

We showed him the logic of his error and specifically with respect to the cards. But he held steadfast to his obviously wrong position.

In addition, he attacked them for being OEM cards. He clearly did not even understand what that meant, again as I and others tried to explain to him. Still holding fast to his position even though this showed his knowledge about video cards was deplorably weak.

Instead of learning, he tried to lie to cover his error by posting articles that he claimed proved what he said. I read those articles and they proved nothing of the kind. So I simply asked him to tell me where the articles supported his claim. He refused to provide that information because he could not - he had lied.

He finally inadvertently confessed he was wrong when he said "There is no difference between quality or performance their both same thing". Obviously that statement is very wrong and went to the heart of the issue.

Throughout this time I had focussed on the issues to prevent readers from being mislead by his bogus information. But he kept repeating his bogus informantion. And to cover his weak position and lying - he launched into viscious personal attacks -

"You have something against women-Are you gay?
"RockyJohn you need to get a life and maybe get laid
"Something is wrong with you mentally.
"You're jealous of this as well.
"MAKING UP LIES & SAYING THINGS THAT DON'T MAKE SENSE [his caps - my note - of course when I asked him to be specific and point out one lie or thing that did not make sense he could not]

And on top of all that he admits using the forum to advertise his website for personal gain.

So you go ahead and defend the person that first makes malicious and bogus attacks on a respected national company, then lies to cover, makes viscious personal attacks on those trying to correct the misleading statements, and misuses the forum for personal gain. I am the victim here. I try to correct his errors - as others did - and he launches into verbal abuse. Yet you are defending the abuser and attacking me, his victim. We can easily see from your childish name calling that you share some of the same qualities he has. Your calling me dumb destroys any creditibility you might have had and shows your tendencies to gross exaggeration and abusive behavior. Of course you might also be his friend or Claire himself.

And I am not "trying to attack Clairvoyant all the time" as you state. He is the one keeping this going. I have only responded to his posts when he had posted wrong and misleading information, to defend myself from his abusive personal attacks, or to show how he posts to keep the thread going for his personal financial benefit. This can stop at any time when he stops those abusive behaviors. He has said several times he would stop - but that proved to be just another lie too.

Generally a good suggestion Hellboy. But in this case I choose not be a silent victim of his repeated abuse.

Let him walk away like he has said he would do several times. He can stop this at any time by just stopping his misleading posts, self advertisement, and bogus abusive attacks.

But apparently he does not understand that his repeated personal attack only show his own immaturity and only demean himself. And that he does not understand this and continues the attacks should certainly make people think long and hard about all of his claims.

As far as a advertisement I'm just showing my real face, and networking! What's wrong with that. Dude with this recession you have to network to be employed or run a business. Chris, I can respect the fact that you are self-employed. These are GOOD cards and they are NOT cheap quality. They might not be as powerful as some of the flagship models Nvidia sells at a premium, but that is NOT the same thing. Cheap price is NOT the same thing as cheap quality.

Anyway, I went to my local Frys and bought Geforce 8400 GS for $30 bucks and I can play any game I want now. My friend went to Compucom and bought a BFG Geforce 7300 for $30 bucks and he can play any games he wants. AND he gets a lifetime warranty!

Im sorry but ive wasted my own personal time reading this garbage,lets get things straight,this forum is for individuals looking for expert and informative advice,rockyjohn knows what he is talking about,chris-clairvoyant obviously doesnt.

I,myself have been building computers for years and have a degree in computing and every post I have read from chris-clairvoyant is just so uninformative and incorrect.

Thats my say on the matter,I just felt like expressing my rage.If i was a moderator i would personally delete this post and ban chris-clairvoyant as he is wasting peoples time.

Ok,first of all sorry for being in the wrong section,i just happened to stumble upon this thread and read through it as it was entertaining.

In relation to the software,you don't need all those programs hogging up your resources,if they did work would you not think that Microsoft would implement them in their operating systems,yes there are optimizations to be made in an operating system,but by running 6 separate programs "designed" to do just this you are indeed just adding more resources in the background.Any clever or knowledgeable computer person would know that you can do these optimizations manually in the operating system itself by using Microsofts own tools.For example I always use msconfig to disable start up entries that aren't required,I will never need a program like the ones you are advertising as my computer runs perfectly,mainly because I built it myself and know what I am doing with it.I have never had a virus for example and I'm online every day.

In relation to your computer you are banging on about,yes it has a mighty processor but you said that your bios is locked down so you cant overclock it?what is the point in that,most people here know that the core i7 920 can be overclocked up to 4GHz on air cooling alone,with the addition of an aftermarket cooler for around £20- £40.

As for your graphics card I have the same one,but its a factory overclocked model,the XFX 4870 XXX Edition.Even when I overclock it further I still get a maximum temperature of 70C on a constant fan speed of 35% which is pretty silent.That is with the stock cooling on my graphics card btw.If i increase the fan speed to 45% It goes down to around 60-65C under full load,depending upon the ambient temperature.

I must admit that your computer is superior to mine,processor wise,as I have the AMD Phenom II x720 Black Edition,with each core overclocked to 3.6Ghz.But for gaming,which is what i bought it for,it does the job,games this generation aren't very processor dependent and are in fact GPU limited,take crisis for example.The only game I can think of,correct me if i am wrong as there may be others,that is CPU limited is GTA4 which I actually have and it runs fairly well.

I built my computer around 7 months ago and consists of the following parts.I built it myself and paid around £550 for all the parts looking for the best deals online.

I carried over the sound card from a previous computer:SB Audigy 2 Platinum eX

I run this on a 22" inch monitor and game in 1680 x 1050 and it runs well.This PC will do the job until the Radeon 5870 or the new nVidia Fermi cards start to go down to the £100-£150 price point,when the Fermi Cards come out that is.Might take a while, lol .

Even when the processor is overclocked to 3.6Ghz from the initial 2.8Ghz it still runs at a maximum temperature of 45C which is really good as the maximum it can handle before throttling/shutting itself down is 73.3 C.

Now this isn't the greatest gaming PC out there,but for the funds I had available I think that's not bad going,in reference to your machine which you paid £1500 for I would say as rough estimate If you built it yourself you would of saved around/at least 30% of what you paid.

I notice you have 6GB of RAM which just wouldn't be needed in today's current generation of PC games,maybe in the next one,but not now,but its good you are future proofing yourself.Although it is the new DDR3 technology and mine is DDR2 you notice it still runs at the same speed as mine,all I am saying is Dell could have given you at least DDR3 1333Mhz ram or higher for the price you paid,and "unlocked" the bios so you can gain valuable performance out of your core i7 920.

And lastly customizing computers on Dell and its partner Alienware is a headache,they totally overcharge you for better parts,I know they have to make money somewhere but why not cut out the middleman,look into how to build your own PC,using these forums for help etc,Its not that hard and save yourself some money.Money which could go into proper advertising of your clairvoyance business,not through this thread and pi**ing everyone off with your inaccurate information.
