Hello all,
first post here, please be kind
I have a Dell XPS laptop with an i7 CPU, 16 gigs of ram and an SSD drive.
I've had it for a few years (probably about 5) and have been using it mostly for web browsing, so nothing too demanding.
Over the last year my computer has become increasingly sluggish in performance, even for the most mundane web browsing tasks.
The bundles diagnosis software (as well as 3rd party) doesn't find any issues.
Things I've tried so far:
1. reinstalling windows
2. freeing up disk space, uninstalling most software
3. increasing page file size
4. optimizing power options for best performance
5. optimizing windows graphics for best performance
6. checking for malware
7. opening the computer, cleaning fans, cleaning internal parts, checking for any irregularities
8. switching between intel and nvidia display adapters
9. checking for ssd errors
Not sure what else to do, I know that 5 years is a lot for a laptop but still, I'd hate to spend money on a new laptop if I don't know what the cause of the problem is.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
