Hello,
I'm trying to find a cheap desk arm for my Audio Technica A2020 microphone. Currently, I'm using a stand, but it is at an awkward height where I have to put my neck at a weird angle to speak directly into it. However, The desk I use is very large (I think it's a dinner table from IKEA, but I'm not sure).
There are metal bars around the bottom perimeter of the desk that make the total thickness around the edges about 7cm. Looking around Amazon, I haven't found many desk arms that support this thickness. One I did find is here:
https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-M...322507&sprefix=aokeo+ak-3,aps,112&sr=8-5&th=1
But, its description and images are inconsistent, and I've seen varying reviews in terms of clamp thickness. I also contacted their support, but the only thing they told me so far is that the clamp design changes on a yearly basis. But, there is another issue.
The clamp can't just attach to the desk where the metal bars are, due to it potentially being unstable. (If anyone has a mic arm, could you measure the diameter of the circular part that contacts the bottom of the desk?) Instead, it needs to have the depth to clear the metal bars and clamp down behind them. I have attached a rough diagram for better visualization of this.
I would prefer to avoid buying a separate clamp because that would unnecessarily increase the price. I already have a pop filter, shock mount, etc. lying around, so I don't need a mic arm that comes with those accessories. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
