Desktop carpet protector?

Hey everyone,

A bit of a weird one, but does anyone know of anything I could perhaps buy that's specifically made (or I guess does a pretty good job), to simply keep my desktop off my carpet. I have a pretty thick carpet and I know that it is definitely not good for keeping dust out of my system, so I just need a board or something to keep the system separated from the carpet. I found this:

Its essentially a mat to protect a desk, so in theory that should work.
That being said, it would bend a lot under the weight of the PC and look kinda bad. Some things I have seen done are cutting boards, or some pieces of ply wood.

Specifically made for? Nope, but plenty of DIY solutions.

1. An appropriate sized particle board from Home Depot, they will cut it for you to size for free. 3/4-1" thick.
2. Some large rubber feet like THESE are 3/4 tall but thick carpeting may need taller.
