[SOLVED] Desktop not getting correct speed test results

Be gentle please, I have an old pc that works fine CQ5320Y running win7 home premium 64bit. I know it is old. I replaced the port with
a new port rated 10/100/1000. I have a cat8 cable and an XB8 router Xfinity. The test from Xfinity says I am getting 1200 to router but with speed test I am lucky to see 220. Is my pc just too old? Thank you.

Again, wait for the ISP tech to come out.

Direct cable from your router to your PC.
If, at that point, you do not get the actual performance you are supposed to, then it is either a bad cable, or the ISPs problem.

220 Mbps sounds about right for the internet speed, unless you ordered a gigabit package.

Or rather, just because you have a fast local network speed, doesn't mean your internet speed is actually that fast.

Try this once if this will work. First of all Click on Network & Internet. Click on Status. Under the "Change your network settings" section, click the Network reset option. Click the Reset. My Health Online Sutter

"Cat 8" has not even been standardized as of yet.

I get same results with cat 6

Far too many bogus quality cables being sold.
