desktop power on and shuts down once cpu fan starts - asus p8z77-v - had for 12 years
some times the startup goes unto windows startup, then stops and restarts. Most of the time it stops as soon as cpu fan starts. I have checked and replaced cpu fan, but that doesn't help. power tester shows all right voltage- corsair 650m the power supply tester kit I got shows power is good. got a pc analyzer pci-bus card (hde network/pci kit from amazon) and i get d0 in code most of the time. I had removed all memory, video cards etc and have bare minimum memory when testing - any help?

How old is the PSU?

What power tester are you using?

The PSU may be able to provide the correct voltages but once under load - power is a different matter.

thanks for the response - PSU=Corsair 6 years + and the power tester got from amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076CLNPPK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
haven't checked with multimeter. will do

Hello - looks like you may be right. testing with multi meter shows that the power is not the same as expected most of pins were lower. but the power tester shows the right volts though. - ordering in PSU - will get in a week and retry - thanks
