Question Device Discovery (for developers) is not working

Every time I turn on the " Device Discovery" in For Developers tab in settings
of my Windows 10 v.2004

I always get a message:


The Windows Developer mode package couldn't be found in Windows Update,
so remote deployment and Windows Device Portal are unavailable.




how can we open it ?

Did you install the Windows 10 SDK as the note on that page tells you?

"Note: This requires version 1803 of the Windows 10 SDK or later."

Perhaps a better question is are you a developer? The settings on that page are there for developers not casual users.

Tried to extract hat sdk's latest version
on my windows 10 2004

the USB device discovery
on the developer mode
still isn't turning on.


what might be the problem ?

Do I need a different windows 10 2004 ?

Why, exactly, do you need that functionality? If, as you say, you are not a developer, then there is nothing there of any value to you.

I am trying to use my Android phone
as a webcam.

It works via WiFi,
However, I need to test it with the USB.

Then plug it into a USB port. Again, there is NOTHING of any use to you in developer mode unless you are actually a developer. Any issues you are having with your experiment lie elsewhere.

You will see that there is a USB functionality.

Again, what, specifically are you thinking that developer mode will give you that is not present in the normal operating mode? You've already stated that you are not a developer which means that anything there will not be of any value to you.
