First my setup:
3900x (stock cooler – aio on the way)
Aorus Master X570
Straight Power 11
G.Skill Trident Neo (2x8)
Dark Base pro 900 rev 2
Problem:
After building it, it initially seemed to work fine. Got my drivers and everything installed. Two weeks or so later, power would drop randomly and shut down. Upon shut down, the RAM lights would be lit, but no fans would be running. From here, I would need to shut the power completely off, wait, and it would be up and running after that. Three weeks after that, no juice. No matter what, power goes through the system whether or not I hit the onboard power button on the case or direct from the motherboard. It immediately goes to this inoperable state.
Troubleshooting:
Cleared CMOS
Tried Q flash
Gave PSU to a friend –it works fine on their rig
Reseated EVERYTHING
Tested system outside of PC case
Seated both sticks of RAM in every slot individually
Got a new CPU (3800x -> 3900x)
Indicators:
Power on the motherboard (I/O button is red)
RAM LEDS light
CMOS on motherboard is lit (normal)
Q-flash is not lit
No other indicators on motherboard
Nothing else spins up
Current thoughts: PSU works on other rigs, but not mine (PSU issue)
Motherboard hit the dust
