Did I burn my GPU by not plugging in the 6pin power connector.

So I just got my brand new gtx 1060 founders edition and I accidentally forgot to plug the 6pin pci-e power adaptor in. Then I tried turning my pc on and one component on the card started glowing bright orange and gave off a burning smell. Did I completely kill my gpu?
I haven’t turned my pc on in fear of damaging it further.

You can't kill a working GPU by not connecting power cable to it. However there is always a chance you got a non-working one to start with. But in either case you didn't done anything wrong.

Done that a few times and never had an issue. Either way you need to try turning it on or you wont know if system needs attention?

Kindly send it for replacement... Bro. It was damaged Already. Because got never die due to not pluging any cable

Bright orange? Not plugging in the cable doesn't harm the card.

No. You didn't burn anything. You need a replacement!

If you don't plug in the 6pin. Your computer won't boot or it will just power off, when ever it starts to draw too much wattage.

How could PSU affect your GPU if it was not connected to it? It could happened if you DID connect 6-pin, but not when you don't.
