Did i destroy my pc? i forgot to put standoffs

I recently built my pc and i forgot to put the standoffs on my define r5. I used it for 2 weeks and everything was fine. I then realised that i forgot to add the standoffs and that i could've fried my motherboard.I disassembled everything and added the standoffs in.

Everything still works but i'm still worried if i damaged something.

But doesn't the motherboard fry if it's in contact with metal?

Same thing, if it was shorting it wouldn't turn on. Like I said you got really lucky, I've never seen one actually able to start up like that, but it worked out.

One good (bad) thing about electronics like a pc is that if hardware isn't working, it's immediately apparent. Makes troubleshooting easier, but it makes replacement a pain in the butt if you buy parts online. I actually bought a thinkpad laptop just to use in case anything on my pc went out and I had to get online to look for a replacement part. It sits on my nightstand as a multipurpose alarm clock. #justgamerthings
