So i got it yesterday and hooked it up today and im not sure if i connected the cables from the card to the PSU correctly but everything is working fine except that im not getting as good of a performance as i should get judging by other peoples videos and benchmarks. My specs are
I7 3770K, ASUS GTX 980 STRIX, 8gb of kingston hyperX, PSU is chieftec CFT 650 14CS, and motherboard is Asus P8Z77-V LX

I never have V sync on. Crysis 3 maxed out so everything maxed and msaa x8 and have not really tested any other games except GTA 5 and that did not run aswell as it did for people with the same CPU and graphics card

Not sure about the motherboards but same cpu as mine was used in several videos i saw and alot of stuttering with GTA V

I game @ 1440p and I can't remember what my 1080p results when when I did testing with a 980

well that's the thing no 2 systems will run alike .. also I think NVidia drivers are at issue so try some of the older drivers that were released for the card
just because its a new driver don't mean its the best .. also some older chipset do have compatibility issues with these new cards - be sure you boards bios is fully up to date ...

read the drivers release notes from NVidia to see if anything is reported in them as known issues /fixes/ install / uninstall info / not supported things , ect , and what ever for each driver

never hurts to go back and start over installing the card maybe something did not go right the first time ?

Just tested Crysis 3 very high 8 X MSaa @ 1080p... I'm getting around 90 fps average max of 115 and a min of 58 this is in a random part of the game.

You should be getting around 60 fps average with min of 35 and a max of about 80.

These are rough estimates however a solid 30 shouldn't be happening

Its average 30....And my I7 is over clocked

There are levels that are more demanding however i think you need to try changing the PSU and if that does't help let us know and we can continue troubleshooting.

The PSU you have is not good enough for your overclocked gpu and cpu....

This is a removal tool, maybe the OP had another graphics card in the system before the 980. " there is nothing wrong with using the program"

I've also been an enthusiast for a long time.. " Over 14 years" lol My first flagship was the 9700 pro in 2002.

Yes i had a GTX 680

Is it necessary to be in safe mode ?

The driver removal tool has helped people here.
