Did i use too muhc thermal paste?

i just installed a new fan and the stock thermal paste came dirty. i just bought some Noctua NT-H1.
2 Things: Did i use too much?
The red circle shows what i think is residue TIM from the stock cooler. Should i remove it?

1. nope. that looks good. 'grain of rice' is usually what I shoot for, and that's close enough.

2. nope. That looks like the arrow that tells you which direction the CPU is supposed to be sitting in the mobo. Should be an arrow on the socket too.

Pea sized is perfect and residue is barely visible , should be fine.

Install the cooler!

The amount of thermal paste you have on the cpu looks about right to me. As for the small amount on the corner of the cpu, since it is on the top, not the bottom where the pins are, I would not think it is a problem.
