Dies for no reason?

I have a VX6000 and three times now it died for no reason. I went to open
it to make a call, and it was blank. I tried holding power to turn it on,
nothing. I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in, and that
fixed it. Every time. Is there something I'm accidentally doing when it's
in my pocket to make it die like this? Is this common among VX6000s?

Are your battery contacts dirty?
Try rubbing them with a pencil erasor.
