Hey there!

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a 7800x3D to a 9800x3D.
I've been using it with a G.Skill Trident Z 2x16 6000 Cl 36 kit since January and it's been great.
I'm seeing people test this new processor with 6000 Cl 30 kits or even lower, Cl 28 timings.
I got a few gift cards for one of the tech sites and I'd be able to get either a 2x24 6000 Cl 30 kit(ADATA XPG) or a 2x32 6000 Cl 36 kit(Kingston Fury Beast).
My question would be, which kit should I be going for?
Would the lower latency prove to be significant enough or would the difference be negligible?
I'd strictly be using it for gaming and before you ask why I'd need more than 32 gigs, is because I've been playing Escape From Tarkov for like 6 years now and it being an unoptimized mess leads to eating up a tona memory.
I do play with other games as well and been trying to look for tests that are strictly performed with 6000 cl30 vs cl36 kits, but couldn't find any.

I truly appreciate every single recommendation/thought and thank you for taking the time to read through my thread!

The smaller the latency, the faster they are , but also more expensive

What resolution do you game at? If you're at 1080p you would probably see a decent difference (5-15%, depending on the game) between the 7800X3D and the 9800X3D. At 1440p or 2160p the difference gets less and less as your GPU carries more and more of the performance burden.

As far as your memory selection goes, the 2x24GB sticks are better, in all instances, EXCEPT for where you would use more than 48GBs of RAM. Get the 2x24GB kits. Oh, also, some BIOSs need an update to run 24 or 48GB modules so be sure to install the latest BIOS before you upgrade.

the lower the timings, the faster the response in a lot of scenarios.

many gaming benchmarks and reviews have mentioned even with lower GHz RAM, and the same sized modules, that they notice a decent uptick in available FPS using CL 30 vs CL 36.

overall, the lower the timing the better.
