I have 2 computers both with 8gb of ram but I plan to make dual channel on both. To save some money I want to take 8gb module from one pc and make the other one 16gb then buy 2 4gb rams for the first pc. The rams I currently have are Kingston Hyperx fury 8gb 2133 MHz cl 14 and Crucial Ballistix sport 8gb 2400MHz cl16. Will they work in dual channel by simply adjusting their speed and latency?

Solution
Mixing and matching RAM does not always work, this is why it is sold in kits as they are tested together. But it may work and probably will. You wont have to adjust the timings as it will default to 2133 if it works.

As far as I'm concerned, in order for RAM to work in dual- or triple-channel, I believe they have to be the same brand, speed, and must be compatible with the motherboard.
