hi everyone. i'm having a problem installing my new memory. when i first installed the memory, both my dimms worked. then, i swapped the 64 with the 128 and the second dimm suddenly stopped working and hasn't worked since. has anyone had this problem before and know of a solution? (besides getting a new motherboard!) any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Did you touch something metal (such as your case chassis) to discharge any static electricity before swapping your RAM?? Try using it in another computer to see if you zapped your RAM. Also try putting it in a different DIMM slot.

Try putting the NOT working DIMM alone, if it is not working
you can take the DIMM and use it as a paper waight, or as a door stop (DIMMs are great as door stops :)).

I expect that the DIMM will work on its own just fine. I've had situations where a 128 doesn't like any other memory being in the same board.

Some manufacturers say that you shouldn't mix memory..this is why..but it happens so very rarely
