Wow, I thought it was perfectly usable from the start. I didnt notice, that GPU couldnt decompress textures just as in case of PS5 and Xbox Series. Does anybody know, why was that? Maybe shared memory on consoles helped it (since you dont have to copy from RAM to VRAM).
In PS5 dedicated chip based of Kraken for decompression. All work of this task into this highly specialised chip.

You are right. Thanks for reminder! I found, that also XS has custom decompression chip. I dont know why I thought, that on consoles, GPU does decompression...Oh I know. RTX I/O claims, it decompress on GPU !!

But anyway. If RTX I/O could decompress in 2020, why so much glory now with GDeflate? Is that because it can be run on nonRTX and even nonNVIDIA gpus?
