DirectX 12 support for R9 280X???????

Hi,

im planning to buy XFX AMD RADEON R9 280X which is DX 12 mentioned in AMD site....but when i checked in some of online stores its showing only DX11.2 support.....is this true cause in XFX i see two models R9-280X-TDBD and R9-280X-TDFD both are showing DX 11.2 in newegg, amazon, ebay etc.....please help....

Solution
The R9 series supports DirectX 12. There just weren't any references to DX12 when the marketing descriptions for that hardware was created and they haven't bothered to update it. Plus, DX12 hasn't been released, so it would be pointless to show that you support technology that's unreleased.

R9 cards are GCN architecture which is indicated to support DX12.

Probably doesn't matter though. Games that are developed with support for DX12 probably won't be seen for two or three years at least anyhow.

Once the full version of windows 10 is released, we'll know more about what's what. Windows 10 may change things in this regard due to DX12...
