I dont know a great deal about how GPUs work with the Direct x ect.

I have a Ti4800 that is an awesome card.Ihave had it for some time and find it to run really well. I am not ready to upgrade the card as I wish to wait until VISTA comes and see what the best card is at this time and upgrade then.

My question (dont think it is possible but.....) is can you supply Direct X 9 support via software. My card is only Directx 8 and was hoping to get a bit of more life out of it. I only ever play a few games and never at a greater res than 1024 x 768

Any thoughts

Hmmm I dont think what you ask is possible... or well it probably is possible but the performance would drop very low. You could possibly find a "wrapper" for DX9 but on that card it would probably only run screen savers 🙁 The problem is DX is more then just software its software that lets programmers "directly" access the hardware.
