Still trying to work out why it has an auto/disabled setting for a modem
it doesn't have on-board, it took me ages to figure out why my
external modem wouldn't work. I assume they use the same BIOS for
different boards. It's a bit odd for the default setting to be auto for
a feature it doesn't have.

I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card which I've been using for a couple
of years. For the moment I'm using the on-board sound and have to admit
it's damn good. In the future I'm looking to get a studio quality card
and I don't mean the stuff that creative labs put out.
