Disappearing icons in Start Menu

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.general (More info?)

Anyone know why icons for various programs might disappear from the start
menu (replaced by generic windows icons)? Any easy way to get them back?

Problem with the IconShellCache file is one reason. You could delete it
and let Windows rebuild it. (it's a hidden file so turn on show hidden
when you go looking)
