Disk boot failure , Insert system disk and press enter

Hi everyone ,
My GPU's fan suddenly started making a really annoying noise so I removed it , cleaned it and reinserted it. The noise disappeared , but till then I am facing this error :
Disk boot failure , Insert system disk and press enter .
I 've double-checked that the chords are all in place. I have to mention too , that HDDs CD/DVD and none self-powered USB devices are not recognized , except an external HDD that is self powered.
Any ideas of what is causing this problem ?

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H55-UD3H
GPU: Asus Geforce GT 730
Ram: DDR3 1600G (3GB)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB + Seagate barracuda 750GB
PSU: Premier DR-8550BTX (max 550W)

The error is appearing because there is no operating system to boot from. So the problem is actually that the hard disk isn't being recognised.

Try removing the GPU, plugging the monitor in to the on board graphics and see if the drives are recognised in the BIOS again. This isn't a solution, but should narrow down the problem. Post back the results...

I did as you said , but even with the GPU removed ,HDD ,USB devices and CDrom not recogised.
I cannot use my keyboard unless i connect it to a PS/2 adaptor.

Hmm, a difficult one. I would start looking at the motherboard or PSU for problems. Do you hear the drives HDD's spin up? If you put a CD in the drive, does the light come on and CD spin? If not, I would suggest some kind of PSU troubles.

If you have a spare PSU it might be worth plugging it in to see if it works. I would leave the GPU out for now as it seems to be the cause of things to start with. Once you find the problem you can put it back in later.

I just had a hard drive failure and it took me a week to figure out what went wrong. I replaced the hard drive but I was still getting a "no bootable devices" error at start up. Understandable because I know I don't have an os right now. So I go to create a new installation disc for windows 10 and change the boot priority to start up from dvd drive but dvd drive is not an option. Neither is usb, hdd,..... nothing.....

Your bios is probably different than mine but ultimately I had to change the UEFI. Although that was greyed out so I couldn't even do that. After a little more playing around, I decided to take a chance and turn off "secure boot". This gave me the ability to change the UEFI settings to Legacy. Once I changed it to legacy, I saved and reset and when my computer booted back up, I was now able to boot from dvd drive or usb in order to reinstall windows.

Hopefully you can at least gets windows back up and running. I haven't attempted to change it back to UEFI out of fear of it happening all over again.

I tried a different PSU but nothing changed. I am afraid that I am facing a mobo issue. Nothing seems to be powered.
I am very disappointed because there aren't Mobos with LGA 1156 socket on the market , which means I am going for a new mobo+CPU combo.
Any additional ideas are more than welcome.

Did you try changing the uefi setting?
