Display adapters and how do they work?

Hello, my friend is having some issues with his new graphics card and his monitor not being compatible together.
I know I could probobly research this myself, but I keep running into new issues when I try to.

So my friend bought a new graphics card for his PC (a 1050 Ti) And it doesn't have a VGA (Analog) output, but my friend onlly has the one monitor. It has 3 HDMI 1 Displayport and DVI-D (which all of them are digital signals... I think). Can he use a VGA to HDMI adapter, and would it work? And also, can he use a DVI-D to DVI-I to VGA adapters?

I would appreciate any input.

you need an active converter.
DVI-I DVI-D will not work either, the 1050 has no Digital to Analog Converters or DACs onboard. you need a converter that has a processor or DAC to convert from digital to analog.
