[SOLVED] Display Port No Signal

Hello. I just assembled a new build pc with my son ( b450 tomahawk max and geforce rtx 2080 super) and am trying to hook it up to the asus vg278 monitor, but cannot make it work. We have tried with both HDMI and display port cables, but each time it comes up "no signal". One time we got a "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device" message... We have not yet installed windows in the PC or drivers for the monitor. We've tried unplugging, reconnecting, switching it on and off again, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Can you get into the bios? I would attach the DP cable and change the display input to DP, then try to start into the boot menu to begin.

Of course, as you probably know, you should expect a no signal warning when the computer is not on.

Thanks! after a bit of fiddling it the DP now works and we can reach the bios... now trying to install windows... fingers crossed!
