[SOLVED] Displayport to HDMI 75 Hz FreeSync

Hi, looking for some advice. I have 3 of the same, new, Asus VA24EHE monitors, and the monitor is supposed to support freesync at 75 hz. I am not able to get that work work at anything higher than 60 hz. All three are plugged into a brand new MSI AMD Radeon 5500 XT MECH 8GB, with display port to HDMI adapters. I thought maybe I had the wrong style adapters, so I bought one that was recommended on here but the freesync wouldn't work and still only connected at 60 hz. My older ones FreeSync works but still only at 60 hz. So I returned the new adapters I bought since they made me worse off. I do not know what type my current adapters are, and I still suspect they are the problem but trying to buy the right one to get the full benefit of the 75 HZ.

Do I need an active adapter? That's my first question. Currently FreeSync is working but the monitor is only showing up at 60 HZ.

Something like this? That would be very expensive though...

Or something like this:

Any other suggestions? I am assuming that is my problem still.

Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync™ only can be activated within “48Hz ~ 75Hz” via HDMI port

Yes that is how I am connecting them. This monitor doesn't have a display port. FreeSync is on and working, just is being limited to 60 hz

FreeSync will not work through active adapters.

There are 2 types of DP to HDMI passive adapter: Type 1 is limited to 60 Hz at 1080p. Type 2 supports up to 120 Hz at 1080p. They are not usually advertised as "Type 1" or "Type 2". To find a Type 2 passive adapter, look for one that supports 4K.

Like this one? That seems to be the one I almost ordered that was reviewed on another post but it says in the description that it only supports up to 60 hz 1080....

So I just uninstalled, reinstalled my graphics card drivers, and only had 1 monitor plugged into the video card, using high speed HDMI cable from monitor to the 1 HDMI port on my video card. As soon as it completes the installation of the software it reverts from 75 hz back down to 60 hz again....I am thinking maybe these monitors are just crap!

OK I take that back.....I installed the monitor drivers from Asus for this monitor now I have 75 hz 1080 connection with 1 monitor....forgot to change it to 75 Hz in my windows settings which was not showing up available before.

So it seems if I can find 2 of the correct adapters I should be able to run the other two at 75 Hz, I have the main screen connected at 75 Hz the other two are at 60.

Yes, sorry. The link got cut off somehow.
Ohh ok got it. I will order that. It was misleading to me since the item description said that it supported 1080P to 60 hz. I ended up ordering the active one that Plugable makes or whatever....quite a bit more expensive....didn't work, so I was reluctant to order more. I didn't realize that the active ones won't work with freesync. I will try these now thanks again!

I ordered 3 of them, but I am still a little unsure this will work the way I want. The item description says 1920 x 1080 supported at 60 Hz or whatever....are you sure this will work? I guess if not I will send these back like the last one's I bought...

To close the loop for anyone that also experiences this it was in fact my old adapters.....the new ones recommended here in this post is what I needed.....all three 1920 x 1080p at 75Hz!
